Built to last
In a world of fast fashion, planned obsolescence, and commoditization of utilities, our pieces will stand out for their durability and longevity. They will be designed and built to last, over-engineered and repairable. We will embrace small batch production runs with constant refinements to improve durability and then back the products with substantial warranties that reflect the confidence in our design and production.
We aim to be a socially conscious manufacturer of uniquely built, limited edition products of traceable provenance. Local business, passionate makers, and visual artists will collaborate to creatively build storied products that will be cherished as keepsakes for generations.
Controlling our scale will allow us to be human, be reachable and be reasonable. We will work with people and sell to people who share our beliefs, reserving the right to suggest naysayers get their products elsewhere. The low volume of our production reinforces the premium price and supports the creativity of the brand image.
Impact facts target
- Guarantee our pieces for a minimum of 10 years
- Engineered for 30+ year lifespan
- Limit production runs to < 1000 pieces
Better for the environment
By enduring the test of time and creating an emotional bond with our collectors, we contribute to reducing the world’s insatiable consumerism frenzy, and in turn, the unsustainable demand burning through our planet’s resources.
Where possible, we will redirect industrial waste streams into our designs. Our ISO14000 certified production facilities are powered by renewable sources and we establish annual targets to ensure measurable progress towards reducing our operational footprint; water consumption, electrical use, gas use, solid waste generation, and carbon emissions.
Impact fact targets
- > 20% of materials and packaging to be repurposed or recycled
- > 75% of production equipment to be renewable powered
- Build to last 30+ years
Stay tuned for a collection of products made of reclaimed wood
Fresh batch of reclaimed wood coming in! We estimate these pine beams date back about 2 centuries: salvaged from a renovation in a 130 year old home in Montreal. Square nails, plaster of Paris stains, and horsehair remnants are among the many features we can work with for an awesome finish!
